Deer Lake is in the upper reaches of the French River watershed.
The French River watershed in Ontario, Canada, is a large area of approximately 19,000 square kilometers, encompassing Lake Nipissing and the French River itself, which flows 105 kilometers from the Lake Nipissing to Georgian Bay. It's known for its historical significance as a traditional route for First Nations people and the fur trade, and for its current role as a major recreational area.
Fishing on Deer Lake
Deer Lake in South River, Ontario is known for its excellent fishing, particularly for Lake Trout, Northern Pike, and Walleye. You can also find Smallmouth Bass in this lake.
Be prepared if you want go fishing. To fish in Ontario, you generally need a valid Outdoors Card and a fishing license. Ontario residents and Canadian residents between 18 and 64 years old need both. Non-residents over 18 also require a license. However, some exceptions exist for those under 18 or over 65, and for people with disabilities.
